This attractive stone built house dates from the mid 1800's, and is situated within the quiet rural village of Fresnes, close to Montbard and its TGV station.

The house contains typical period features (e.g. stone fireplace, and beautiful oak beamed bedroom) and has been tastefully renovated and modernised to include gas-fired central heating. The bedroom covers the entire upper floor and contains a sitting area for reading or watching the TV (DVD player attached). The downstairs comprises of the Kitchen/Diner; with its original flagstone floor and a wood burning stove, leading to a separate sitting room, and the bathroom with shower and toilet.

The house is situated in a small pleasant village community, surrounded by open countryside and ancient forests, with many Burgundian attractions nearby, its position is ideal for visiting; Flavigny-Sur-Ozerain (famous as the setting for the film 'Chocolat') Alise St. Reine,(highest point in Auxois) Abbey De Fontenay (a world heritage site)Vezeley, Dijon, Beaune, and Chablis. For those of you that love the outdoors and nature, you could easily spend much of your time walking or mountain biking as the views are wonderful and wildlife abound. For those interested in wine, some of the world's most famous vineyards are easily accessible, and many lesser known but equally appealing Domaines are keen to welcome you and share the fruits of their labours with you. There are a number of local markets where you can buy fresh local produce, and these are held on various days during the week.
