Burgundy4U Family day Friday 20 th August 2010 |

|
Thank you for coming to our family day in Vougeot!
We had great weather, we were about 50 guests that had a great time. A band played in the garden, the children painted and decorated, the elders went into the wine cellar and listened to tips from Credit Agricole's Vanessa Foster and Maartje and Babice from Benoit Assurance. Amongst other we learned that the credit card covers up to 1500 euros risk when abroad, that UK number plates cannot be insured in France anymore. Yours sincerely Benjamin

National Park "Entre Champagne et Bourgogne" |

|
The park “Entre Champagne et Bourgogne” opens in 2012.
Last July Minister Fillon announced the formation of the 11th national park in France covering an area between Champagne and Burgundy - more precisely, the north east of the Cote d’Or , and the southern part of the Haute Marne department. Villages involved are Arc en Barois, Chateauvillain, Langres and Chatillon sur Seine. Geographically speaking, it covers the Plateau de Langres and the Chatillon forest areas, and will be more than 80 000 hectares in size.

Radon Awareness promoted by European parliament |
|
French Government now working on a new law involving Radon
Radon is a gas found mostly in granit stone, that can lead to diseases such as lung cancer. Of concern are those basement areas that are confined with natural granit floors. Granit stone walls are not an issue, as they will have lost their radioactivity as the stone has "breathed" the radon out. We do not know yet what our obligation as estate agents will be, but we expect a map with risk zones to be published and that Public buildings will need to take precautions if Radon is present. We will keep you informed of any news concerning this item.
